Education is my profession. I teach, and the classroom is still where I test everything. An approach that works on paper but falls apart in a room with thirty children doesn't work.

I also work for Ontwikkelkracht, the ten-year national programme run from the Dutch Ministry of Education that brings research and classroom practice closer together. Schools that do something well show how they do it; what research finds has to become usable on an ordinary Tuesday. That intersection is where I like to be.

And I build. Tools and sites for education, almost always because I needed them myself: something that turns an hour of admin into five minutes, teaching material a colleague can pick up without a briefing, a machine in the makerspace doing what it was built to do again.

It comes from the same conviction I teach with: good tools are the difference between a plan and something that actually happens.
